Hannibal NBC Series

I have been a huge fan of Thomas Harris's works for ages. So imagine the thrill when I discovered Bryan Fuller directed an artistic, emotionally tormenting series featuring Hannibal and Will Graham. I suppose Hannibal was more famous with Clarice Starling in The Silence of the Lamb. I wasn't particularly into Red Dragon back then but with the series out, I am reading it with big appetite. It's really fun to read it and watch the series simultaneously because the director, Bryan Fuller, is just sooo clever in making this interesting. In the series, they changed the subplot here and there, maybe changing a few genders... lol. Really, Freddie Lounds and Alana Bloom are both male in the book! I love how they added new characters to represent some part/events of the main characters' struggles. It's simply fascinating.

Though, I must say, this show is definitely NOT for weak stomach. The crime scenes are very, very explicit. I cringed in most of the scenes yet they are somehow... very artistic. It's all morally wrong~ don't judgeeee!!!
I convinced my dad to watch it with me and he was like "This is so gory. I can't. This is not good for your soul." But he still watches it with me because hey, I'm daddy's little girl. *Wink wink* Ok jokes aside. The show is gory (I shit you not. I don't think I can emphasize that enough) I watch the show for the pure... emotionally torment torture and the... soul-crushing relationship between Hannibal Lecter and Will Graham. It's all masochistic. Will Graham... poor sweet neurotic Will...

Now, let me charm you into becoming a Fannibal by introducing you to the 2 gorgeous main characters.

Hugh Dancy as Will Graham                                                               Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal Lecter

As you watch the show, you will notice the amount of cannibalistic jokes Hannibal kept dropping. It's so witty that everyone thinks he is kidding. If only somehow would take him seriously, there wouldn't be much of a plot.
So I was in my university library, happily studying... not really, but anyway browsing through Hannibal fanpage when I came across this. I laughed so hard in the library. Man... I'm just SO BAD.

OK before I get carried away with more jokes, I will wrap up a quick summary without spoiling too much.
So Will Graham is a very talented FBI profiler (not really an agent but whatever) who has the ability to empathize so completely with people (meaning he can assume anyone's point of view). His boss uses him to help catch serial killers by becoming them. Then Will started to get a bit neurotic because he has been in the mind of too many bad people. SOOOO Jack Crawford, his boss, decided to introduce him to a psychiatrist, Dr. Hannibal Lecter... the ban of his existence and the sassiest man of the show. So Hannibal is very fascinated by Will's empathy and continues to torture him to see how far he can go. And he does his manipulation so subtly that no one knows any better. Dude, he feeds people to his guests and it's like food porn! (Yes, Food Porn... said the director of the show, Bryan Fuller)

To sum the series up, Hannibal is a sassy dick. Will is a kicked puppy who takes care of stray puppies.

Be thankful I'm not narrating this in person. I told the summary to a friend today and he said, "Is it supposed to be this funny or ..." Me: "God no! It's really dark. I just have a retarded way of telling the story." Him: "Oh... I thought it was a comedy. I would have wanted to watch it otherwise."

I looove this quote in the show. It's the little thing like this that makes the show awesome. The symbolism! I can go on forever talking about Hannibal. Yes, I even joined its fanpage on Facebook... Hannibalism... listed under religious organization. LOLOLOL. Gotta love the Fannibals' dark humor.

Seriously, you need to check them out. They have some of the darkest yet hilarious jokes on Hannibal. Disclaimer, I don't own any of the photo/images in this post because it's all from there or Hannibalogy. Check them out.

Speaking of... weird tension between Hannibal and Will... They have the most unconventional bromance ever. Literally... Hannibal confuses the heck out of fans. One moment he says he considers Will as a friend, the next... he utterly destroys him.

 LOOOOL Will's face!!!
Well, he is clearly not amused by Hannibal's witty joke!
 Then there is this...
So Bryan... WILL THEY? OR NOT? The suspense is killing me!
On this note, I will leave you with a beautiful fanvid made by Katrindepp.
So guys! Have I convinced you to watch Hannibal? PLEASE WATCH IT! Sooo delicious that it's a miracle my ovaries are still functioning.
And for the Fannibals who haven't seen the trailer for the second season... how could you not see it yet?
Here is the gorgeous trailer. Spoiler alerts.

How to Care for Your Pet Rabbit 101 [Basis Care]

After years of not having a pet to love, I got myself a cute bunny right after I finished my first internship. The job was arduous and I am glad I am done with it. So to reward myself with a cute rabbit.

How I got my bunny

Before we continue, I have a little story to tell you guys. So I went to the nearest pet store after school (yes, it was the day I finished my internship and also the same day I started school). I found a cute droppy ear bunny that I liked. So I asked the store assistant to get it out of the cage for me. I was really excited and all. Then the lady asked me if I have a bunny cage to which I replied Yes. She asked me for the size of the cage and I told her it was a decent size cage which I bought long time ago from a pet store. Then, surprisingly, the store assistant refused to sell me the bunny unless I buy their $130 cage. I was like "SAY WHAT?" Then she said my cage is too small and how I would feel if someone shut me in a closet. I was like "Woah... what... the... this is definitely NOT the type of customer service I am used to." So I argued that I will get a bigger cage once I'm bigger and I really wanted the bunny today because it's a significant day in my life to me. But the lady downright refused to sell me the bunny! I was kinda shocked. I am usually very patient and all but man... this just takes the cake.

So I went home, empty-handed and very, very disappointed. My dad saw how depressed I was and drove me to another pet store. We looked around and the bunnies were all born the same day. My dad told me to get the biggest one and I was like "Why? I want to raise it from baby." My dad explained that they are all born the same day and I should get the strongest of the batch, which is the biggest one. I agreed and that's how we got my bunny. He was the biggest, strongest and has softest fur coat. The best thing is that the store assistants were super nice and pleasant, unlike the other one! Also, my dad bought the bunny for me. Double YES! Dad, you are awesome. Seriously.

Step 1: You must really be determined to love your pet.

I sincerely care and treasure my bunny, Timber with all my heart.
Tips: buy/adopt a baby animal you can easily form a bond with. When they are baby, you will feel a sort of parental instinct to care and provide. It is easier to form a bond.

Step 2: Bond with your pet

With Timber, when introduced him to my home, he was very scared. Instead of putting him in a cage, I let him out to roam my room for a few days. He obviously poo and peed which I have to clean up but it is worthy. Here is why you should do what I did. Your new pet is scared. You don't want to immediately lock him up in a cage/jail. It may feel even more stressed. So in my case, I let him free in my room so he felt less... of a prisoner. He is free to run and jump.

Also, since he is in the room with you, he recognized you (footsteps, voice) and knows you don't mean harm. That way he is less likely to run for his life the second you go near.

Tips: Let your pet in your room for a few days. You can put your pet on your chest and let it feel your heartbeats. It will increase the bonding.

Step 3: Cage Time

Eventually, your pet has to go to its cage (unless it's a dog/cat then don't cage them).
Preferably, leave the cage outside where your pet can have fresh air.
Clean their cage every week at least.

Tips: Stay with your pet for a few minutes while it is adjusting to its new... cage/home. It will feel less abandoned.

Step 4: Let your pet free everyday for awhile

I let Timber out on my fenced backyard everyday for 30 mins under close supervision. At first, started small... like out your room... then out your house... then out your patio... introduce each part of your house slowly so your pet can memorize the familiar places.

I am confident Timber won't escape because I slowly train him that he can go just as far as the fence. My eyes follow him everywhere when he is out by himself (you don't want your pet to get attacked by wandering cats). Whenever he goes near the fence, I go up to him and steer him around. LOL

Don't be afraid to let your pet out to explore. It will love you even more and you can try to incorporate some sort of discipline. Timber knows that at night, he has to go back to cage. At first, he will stare at me with big eyes and wanting me to let him out. But nope. Now, he knows at night = cage = sleep time

Rabbits are curious creatures. So be at ease and let them explore. They make the cutest expression.

Tips: Let your pet explore one area of your house at a time. If you don't have a yard then let him roam in your house.

Step 5: Keep any wire away from your pet bunny

Tips: Just let your bunny roam at rooms that don't have wire. Or just loop your wire higher than its reach.

For starters, you should just try out these simple steps & tips. It will make your pets happy and your life bright and glorious. Next time, we will talk about bringing your pets with you on a vacation (huh, try that with a bunny) and other pets' funny behaviours.

Here is a teaser. Happy Timber on a lake-side vacation!!!
