Do You Know About Cat Cafe?

Alright guys, we finally have our first cat cafe in North America -Montreal, Canada. So you can imagine how thrilled everyone is... like super excited about. My facebook newsfeed was all about "Omg it's happening" to "Omg when is it opening?" a month ago. Little to people know, the Cafe Des Chats is already opened. At least the first one near Sherbrooke metro. 3435 Avenue Saint-Denis, Montreal.

It's funny because I didn't know a cat cafe was already opened. You know why? Because all we heard in publicity is Cafe Chat L'Heureux and not Cafe Des Chats. Waaaaat? I didn't even know Cafe Des Chats existed?!!!! And are you telling me there will be TWO cat cafes? I am telling you there's one already open and the other is on the way. I'm not sure if they both belonged to the same owner but whatever is going on... the owner of Cafe Des Chats really needs to snatch public's attention before Cafe Chat L'Heureux opens... because that place is all everyone has ever heard of and is anticipating on visiting. If any of you have any cool gossips, write them in the comments below. We would like to know more. Thanks.

Back to the subject...So I am here to enlighten you that YES there is a Cat Cafe already in business in Montreal (and they are within walking distance between each other... huh? yup! Competition might gonna be fierce! Rawr!) If you want to cuddle a cat, go there! Or wait until Cafe Chat L'Heureux is open. It's up to you.

So as a pet lover, I visited Cafe Des Chats (and will visit Chat L'Heureux when it opens eventually.)
It's located on Saint-Denis avenue, which is the hub-hub of fancy restaurants and beautiful little boutiques, at the heart of Montreal. For visitors, please visit that street. It's not too touristic and locals love to dine there. Trust me. You'll like it.

This is the entrance... it says "The Cat is King"... so it's safe to say that the cats there are getting the real pampering of their lifetime. Everyone is going there just to love them. How awesome is that?

It's a great place for couples and friends. The ambiance is quiet and peaceful, with occasional cats crawling on your table... love it.
The menu is a bit small, maybe they will expand it later. Don't panic. They have your usual coffees alright. They have Expresso, Meowchiato, Catpuccino, Americano, and bottled soda, ice tea, and some desserts. The price range is from $3.50 to $4.95 if I remember correctly.
I ordered a Meowchiato but I am not a big coffee drinker. So I can't judge if the taste is exceptional or not. You will have to try it yourself and let me know.
The innocent little kitten... This poor little fellow is hiding under the chair, away from all the fabulous attention it is getting. Like I said earlier, they are definitely not left out. There were like 8 cats for 15 tables. Everyone wants to pet them! Hide yo cats, hide yo back, we wanna pet ya' all!

This cat is majestic. Despite its grumpy looks, it tolerates your petting. :P

The chill spots for lazy cats.

The kitties are friendly. They don't scratch if that's what you are worried about. They will let you pet them (who doesn't?). The store also lets you use cat toys to bait them into playing with you. As shown above, the cashier playing with the cat... or rather trying to get the cat down and away from the fragile cups.

This cat is really pretty. Totally elegant. Its fur is so soft.

This is where the cats eat their meals. The place is a bit gloomy but it is expected. It's the place for the cats to rest. They have entertained you enough. Time to relax. Being with people can be exhausting. I don't blame them. They are real champs/hosts.

Sleep now, random kitten. This one will lick you if you go near. :)

Spring Bunny Playing in the Snow

Timber is a spring bunny (born April 3rd 2013). Obviously seeing snow was something bizarre for the little cutie poo. When the temperature dropped in November, I took Timber indoor. We have a spare room so he gets to stay there... in a cage. Poor thing. I let him out whenever I'm free. So Timber isn't missing out on company. So I brought him out to see his first snow (December 2013). He was obviously really shocked by the drastic change of scenery. The last time he was outside, the grass was still green! Now it's a blanket of soft fluff.
Then I was worried he might change a cold. (silly me) So I went Christmas shopping with a friend for baby clothing. Boy... that was awkward. We prowled through the Dollarstore, Target...etc. Hoping to find a cheap short-sleeve baby shirt... for a bunny.
"Hey, let's go shop for baby clothing!"
"You know, people will talk if you don't understand the context."
So in the end, I used my brother's old baby clothes. LOL
Doesn't Timber look soooo cute in that? I call him my Bunny Burrito!

March 13, 2014. Spring was supposed to be here. It was warm 2 days ago. Snow melting and all then last night... freaking snow storm in Canada. And we are back to 15-30 cm of snow. So I laid in bed last night, listening to the howling of the wind at 72km/hr, thinking what a brilliant idea it will be to throw Timber out in the snow! So I did. I threw him out in the snow the next day. He went sailing in the air for 3 sec and went plop in the snowbank. So. Freaking. Cute. I'm so bad. Here is his startled look when he was like "dafuq that witch just did? Did she just fling me out?" I had my trusty camera ready for the moment!
Oh ANGRY BUNNY WARNING. He looks so pissed as he made his way back to me.

Then fortunately, his playful side kicked in and off he went. Timber has the cutest/weirdest way of digging snow. Sure, he digs like normal animals. But he also has this funny technique. I wish I had filmed it. He did it quite a few times already. So basically when the snow gets too high up, he will thrust his paws into the snow and pulled his body forward. Like swimming breaststroke. You can kinda see the 2 holes behind him that he made with his paws. It's that cute! My friend was telling me he looks shapeless. Hahaha. Amoeba Timber.

Our backyard is quite well secured. He can try to slip away under the fence (he did that many times during the summer and I had to run to the neighbor's yards to get him back. AWKWARD!) but in winter, he's good. I just have to be watchful for sky and land predators. Look at that cute butt as he hopped.
Feeding snow at Timber. Ha. He isn't that stupid. He was just sniffing it and was like "this aint food!"
Timber is a bit sad to see you reach the end of his post.

How to Care for Your Pet Rabbit 101 [Basis Care]

After years of not having a pet to love, I got myself a cute bunny right after I finished my first internship. The job was arduous and I am glad I am done with it. So to reward myself with a cute rabbit.

How I got my bunny

Before we continue, I have a little story to tell you guys. So I went to the nearest pet store after school (yes, it was the day I finished my internship and also the same day I started school). I found a cute droppy ear bunny that I liked. So I asked the store assistant to get it out of the cage for me. I was really excited and all. Then the lady asked me if I have a bunny cage to which I replied Yes. She asked me for the size of the cage and I told her it was a decent size cage which I bought long time ago from a pet store. Then, surprisingly, the store assistant refused to sell me the bunny unless I buy their $130 cage. I was like "SAY WHAT?" Then she said my cage is too small and how I would feel if someone shut me in a closet. I was like "Woah... what... the... this is definitely NOT the type of customer service I am used to." So I argued that I will get a bigger cage once I'm bigger and I really wanted the bunny today because it's a significant day in my life to me. But the lady downright refused to sell me the bunny! I was kinda shocked. I am usually very patient and all but man... this just takes the cake.

So I went home, empty-handed and very, very disappointed. My dad saw how depressed I was and drove me to another pet store. We looked around and the bunnies were all born the same day. My dad told me to get the biggest one and I was like "Why? I want to raise it from baby." My dad explained that they are all born the same day and I should get the strongest of the batch, which is the biggest one. I agreed and that's how we got my bunny. He was the biggest, strongest and has softest fur coat. The best thing is that the store assistants were super nice and pleasant, unlike the other one! Also, my dad bought the bunny for me. Double YES! Dad, you are awesome. Seriously.

Step 1: You must really be determined to love your pet.

I sincerely care and treasure my bunny, Timber with all my heart.
Tips: buy/adopt a baby animal you can easily form a bond with. When they are baby, you will feel a sort of parental instinct to care and provide. It is easier to form a bond.

Step 2: Bond with your pet

With Timber, when introduced him to my home, he was very scared. Instead of putting him in a cage, I let him out to roam my room for a few days. He obviously poo and peed which I have to clean up but it is worthy. Here is why you should do what I did. Your new pet is scared. You don't want to immediately lock him up in a cage/jail. It may feel even more stressed. So in my case, I let him free in my room so he felt less... of a prisoner. He is free to run and jump.

Also, since he is in the room with you, he recognized you (footsteps, voice) and knows you don't mean harm. That way he is less likely to run for his life the second you go near.

Tips: Let your pet in your room for a few days. You can put your pet on your chest and let it feel your heartbeats. It will increase the bonding.

Step 3: Cage Time

Eventually, your pet has to go to its cage (unless it's a dog/cat then don't cage them).
Preferably, leave the cage outside where your pet can have fresh air.
Clean their cage every week at least.

Tips: Stay with your pet for a few minutes while it is adjusting to its new... cage/home. It will feel less abandoned.

Step 4: Let your pet free everyday for awhile

I let Timber out on my fenced backyard everyday for 30 mins under close supervision. At first, started small... like out your room... then out your house... then out your patio... introduce each part of your house slowly so your pet can memorize the familiar places.

I am confident Timber won't escape because I slowly train him that he can go just as far as the fence. My eyes follow him everywhere when he is out by himself (you don't want your pet to get attacked by wandering cats). Whenever he goes near the fence, I go up to him and steer him around. LOL

Don't be afraid to let your pet out to explore. It will love you even more and you can try to incorporate some sort of discipline. Timber knows that at night, he has to go back to cage. At first, he will stare at me with big eyes and wanting me to let him out. But nope. Now, he knows at night = cage = sleep time

Rabbits are curious creatures. So be at ease and let them explore. They make the cutest expression.

Tips: Let your pet explore one area of your house at a time. If you don't have a yard then let him roam in your house.

Step 5: Keep any wire away from your pet bunny

Tips: Just let your bunny roam at rooms that don't have wire. Or just loop your wire higher than its reach.

For starters, you should just try out these simple steps & tips. It will make your pets happy and your life bright and glorious. Next time, we will talk about bringing your pets with you on a vacation (huh, try that with a bunny) and other pets' funny behaviours.

Here is a teaser. Happy Timber on a lake-side vacation!!!

Timber, the Destroyer of Figurines

Today, I will show you a compilation of Timber (my sassy rabbit) and my figurines. I was happily blogging my figurines when I noticed a trend. Timber is always attacking my boys! What the... He is probably jealous or something. Still... Timber, you need to staaaaph. My priceless figurines! *Sob* Anyway, behold, Timber the destroyer of plastic men.
He will steal your soul with his cuteness and crush it!
Even Dante, son of Sparda, hot hon' slayer of demons and pizzaboy, has a tough challenge when it comes to battling a gigantic furry beast in an inescapable cage.
Timber doesn't give a damn whether you have demonic blue glowing arm or not. He is going to nibble it to mush. Cuteness alert.
In the normal world, you attack monsters with weapons. In Timberland, Timber attacks your weapon.
Timber: "Move bitch, get out of the way, biaaatch."
Squall sulked even harder afterward... "I aint no one's bitch." He said. But we don't care cuz he is one.
Don't ever poke poke your finger in places it doesn't belong because you never know when a lightning fast rabbit might just chew it off. Nasty fangs aware.
Now, take a good look at this evil gangsta cutie! He even grows his pair of silly eyebrows. LOOOOL Winter is coming so he is changing his fur coat. He used to be light brown. As you can see the darker brown fur coat is slowly replacing the old fur. So no more excess mohawk hair that I loved so much. Aww well~ But man, he looks retardedly adorable!

Polymer Clay's Little Wonders

Hey guys, today I would like to introduce you to the world of Polymer Clay! I have made some charms and they are extremely easy to make and are just soooo cute! Now I happened to come across this new hobby of mine while buying figurines (as I'm a new collector). I thought 'How did they make these figurines?'. So I did some research and came across Polymer Clay charms.

So I went to the nearest arts craft store (Omer Deserres) and bought 3 Fimo clay packs (White, Black and Yellow) and a bag of eyepins. I started making Hamtaro, a panda, and angry bird. I realized then that I really enjoyed making these charms and made an effort to buy the acylic paints (White, Yellow, Red, Blue). I colored the Angry Bird red and Hamtaro. The panda was inked with a liquid gel black pen.
Then I started working on the Pikachu, another cute success...
I started to explore all the other aspects of Polymer Clay and I swear they do wonders. The clay stick very well to each other. You can just gently stick them together and bake them... they will be rock hard and firm. The bonds too. Quite amazing.

My first batch of Polymer Clay charms... I have to admit, they don't look half bad. Hohohoho...

My 2nd attempt was to make clay pastry. They are sooooo challenging and fun to make!
You have to be patient and carefully texture the clay to look like creams. I can say they are just sooo amazing.

Then I tried to make a gentleman Red Robin. The smaller one was made by my 4 year-old bro who was just too eager to sit aside and watched me have all the fun. He had to tried it out too. I helped him of course...

So far, I am having a great load of fun with the polymer clay. If anyone is interested in this hobby, be sure to tell me and we can buddy up~ I just started learning about it in March 2013... so come and talk to me about it. I don't bite.

As for those of you expected other categories' update, I do apologize. I'm actually pretty busy (hide this post). I got a work internship this semester and it required a lot of my time and energy. So I'm left exhaaausted. Anyway it's no excuse and I apologize for the wait. I will be back soon with the updates!

My Collectibles on Shelf

For those of you who are interested in collecting little cute things to decorate yourself, this is a post for you! If you aren't the type, scoop around. I will be talking briefly about the collectibles I have and how I acquired them. I probably spent more on them than my other purchases. That should speak volume.
I painted the ceramic dragon at a place called Ceramic Cafe years ago. It was pretty pricey. About $20 an hour to paint there... and it took me 2 hours. Yup. I'm crazy. Basically the ceramic sculpture is already provided. There are teddy bears, motorcycles, vases...etc. I picked a Dragon One. Instead of painting it just one color, I applied many 'gentle' colors on it. Then you leave your sculpture with the store for a week. They will 'bake' the ceramic. Apparently, the store likes my Baby Dragon a lot and even photographed it to add into their album. I'm sooooo proud! *shameless bragging*
Felicitations!
Votre piece a ete photographiee et apparaitra peut-etre dans notre livre d'idees! Pour vous remercier, voici un coupon de 5$ applicable sur votre prochaine visite.
It translates to:
Congratz. Your work is photographed and may appear on our album for ideas. To thank you, here is a $5 coupon that is applicable on your next visit.
Boy, my poor parents have to tolerate my gloating for the rest of the day.
Oooh, another piece of work I love! I folded this stormtrooper. It took me about an hour. I downloaded the picture from a Deviantart account and I was like "Alright, time for some crafting!" I'm pretty proud of it. :)

On the left, you see my 3 year-old brother's artwork. My dad helped him glued the pieces but it's still super adorable. I asked them to give it to me. Haha. The pink music box is also a soap box. I got it from a Canadian retail store called Winners for $14.99. Then the jar of colorful bubbles was bought from Malaysia for $10. You would of course recognize Gabranth and Squall since I talk about them sooo much in my other posts. They are $51.98 and $38.79 respectively. My precioussss...

One cannot ignore Eustass Kid. I bought him for $4.75. One of the best right-on-spot decisions I had done in my life. I was staring at him for the longest time at Otakuthon. I think the lady was getting annoyed with me because I was like ... OMG OMG OMG! then I walked away... and went back OMG OMG OMG! Yeah, I can't believe I EVEN hesitated. Love this figurine with all my heart! Flawless, very detailed and perfect. Even his grin looks sexy and evil! Kyyaaa~

I bought this artistic craft from a street merchant during my trip to Singapore. I bought it for $10. It was too cool to ignore. LOL queen of spending money on collectibles! Singapore has lots of interesting craftsmen, so does Malaysia and Indonesia (bought some wooden little people, totally cool)

Anyway this is just a small part of my collection. My computer shelf is just desk-sized. Just the tip of the iceberg. Wait till you see the others in my room. Hohohoho!
