Amazon Fast Shipping!

On our birthdays, my brother and I received a gift amazon gift certificate from family. Excited, I ordered books I wanted and cartoon DVD for my little brother. I was sooo surprised by the shipping time. Aside from their free shipping (order $25 above), the delivery is faaast.
This is how the recipient of the Amazon gift card sees. You can add notes and wishes there. This is my second time receiving amazon gift cards (I'm so geeky). Click to enlarge the pic...

At 11:49 am, I received a notification from Amazon that they had delivered my order. I expected it to arrive in 2 days. At 2:20 pm, the doorbell rang. Curious, I answered the door and saw the postman standing there with a package. I immediately recognized the package. After all, I ordered from Amazon a couple of times. But today is the fastest delivery I had ever seen! They mailed the order at 11 and I got it at 2... that's 3 hours! Omg. Do they have their warehouse next to my house or something? I'm really surprised by their speedy delivery. Very satisfied.
This is how the order from amazon arrived in their usual packaging. The books and DVD are a bit disorganized during the handling but it's not big deal.

Tada! All arrive safely. My little brother's precious DVD and my books. I can't wait to read them. Hammer of God by Karen Miller will be an interesting read. It has pretty gory detail in the first book Empress but what I really like about the trilogy is the world Mrs Miller had created. It's so harsh and entertaining.

I was browsing around Amazon when I ran across Theft of Swords by Micheal J. Sullivan. I did a quick research about the book and the preview looks positive. So I'm going to give it a try.
Cat in the Hat is one of my brother's favorite. WordWorld is very educational. He starts going M-m-m mouse! So cute.

Again, Amazon did a good job today. They never ceased to amaze me. My expectation for them is now set to the highest! Haha. If you want to send someone a gift certificate, get it from Amazon. They have almost anything there. Toys, books, figurines, cooking, tools, electronics, you name it! You don't have to worry about buying the wrong gift. Let the recipient pick the ones they want.

Final Fantasy Gabranth Play Arts Kai

So Gabranth has arrived. This time I bought it from Robert Anime Corner Store because they offer the cheapest Gabranth there is! Trust me to find the cheapest goodies... I didn't buy from Things From Another World as I did with Squall because they don't have Gabranth. So I thought, why not give other online stores a try? So I scooped around and found Toylet. I saw they had Nero for $36.99 and Gabranth for $42.99 with $20 shipping for both. I was like okay, pretty fair and I get to buy Nero which is a rare nowadays. I read good reviews from them and ordered. Sadly, the store did a last minute check and both were sold out! I was very disappointed. My expectation was so high. They compensated their mistake with a 5% discount on one future purchase.
*Sigh* In the end, I bought Gabranth from RAC (They don't have Nero) for $36.99 + $14.99 shipping. It's still a good deal but I don't get to have Nero... *serious sulking going on*

Okay! So back to the magnificent Gabranth Play Arts Kai...

He is amazing. Utterly flawless! Squall sort of pale in comparison to his superb armor design. Look at the design of his armor and sword. Square Enix really did a good job with their blades. Even Squall's Gunblade looks really real.

You can also join Gabranth's two swords together by the butt. I had lots of fun testing it out! Gabranth's grip on the swords is much stronger than Squall's. Gabranth is also generally more firm and stable. Here is a back shot. The cape is beautiful. Don't you think it looks like it's bellowing? Splendid!

So stunning! The swords are truly a piece of arts. The gold embedded in the silver is just amazing!

Showdown with Squall! (Note: Yeah I took off Squall's white fluffy thingy around his waist because Squall's torso kept coming off... the ball joint around the waist is not very strong. Sad. Fortunately, Gabranth is very flexible. You can make him do a split! LOLOLOL)

Oh yes, the boys can switch blades. Squall can hold Gabrath's 2-in-1 sword pretty well. He won't be unbalanced by the weight. Gabrath on the other hand can hold the Gunblade but because of his hand position, the gunblade can only be held slanted. It's sort of weird but he can hold it.

For those who wonder about their height difference. There you go~ as well as how long the blades are. They are gorgeous, both the characters and the sword design. I have no regret buying them and photographed them like camfigurines! If you guys have any question about where to buy them, the reasonable price...etc. Or if you want to recommend me a superb figurine (Play Arts Kai), just comment below. I might be getting Snow Velliers or Ezio from Assassin Creed 2 (He looks so badass!)

Online Shopping Experiences

Online shopping! If you are new (or interested) to the online shopping trend, relax and enjoy this blog. Ok, my very first purchase online was with Amazon. Buying books. If you are scared of shopping online, my recommendation is that you start with some really, really trusted websites. Most of the super uber famous stores should be safe. Once you purchase from the trusted websites and got your orders delivered to your house, you will feel more daring afterward and venture to the less popular sites.

I strongly recommend you do some research before buying. You want to know their reputation, their policy, etc. Normally I read about other customers' reviews on places such as Resellerratings (http://www.resellerratings.com/). Not only do you get an idea how the stores deliver their promises but you also feel more secure after reading the good reviews. Also, it's important to know the store's return policy. The policy differs from stores so you might want to know what exactly you are dealing with.

Now I will talk about some experiences I have with online shopping and some awesome online stores...

Let's start from local to international goodies. For local deals, I visit Teambuy and RedFlagDeals for updates. I believe they are Canadian websites. So if you are in Canada, you're lucky. If not, don't panic. I'm sure you can find your local coupon stores if you search it up. Anyhow, the deals these sites have are pretty good.

Here are some deals we bought:

  • Yeh, Yogurt and Cafe --$5 for $10--

You make your own delicious yogurt ice cream with all sort of yummy topping. It's like going to Honeyduke at Hogsmeade... delicious!

  • Beaver Tail and Moozoo --$5 for $10--

Doesn't the food look so yummy? Totally worthy! You can see how a Beavertail looks like in the first picture. It's on the board. You can also buy Moozoo (smoothie). Look at those beautiful ice cream. Seriously, some flavors gave me toothache. That's how sweet it is. And I have high sweet tolerance! But anything can be cured with a nice, large smoothie made of fresh fruits!

That's it for local for the moment.

Now we head to international online shopping! Fly awaaaaayyyy to....

I bought really the most random books from Amazon like Diablo: Legacy of Blood, Hunger Games (Yes I read it before it was even cool. I was such a hipster back then), a bunch of Harry Potter books, a Karen Miller's trilogy and unfortunately, I also bought some random books that I don't quite like. It happens. I was tricked by the beautiful book covers *insert guilty, kick-puppy face*. They usually come in a brown box with an Amazon smiling logo on it. The cardboard is pretty thick and hard so you don't have to be afraid of crumpled goods. From experience, the delivery is fast. Hmmm, what else? Gift certificate can be trusted. I received gift certificates on my birthday (Ahem, nerd) and I can tell you that it's safe even though it's a big amount like in the hundreds. Anyhow, Amazon is a really reliable site, at least for books. I never tried out the electronics so I can't say much. In Canada, the shipping is free if you purchase more than $25 (used to be $35 back in the days). So it's a really good deal. I loooove Free Shipping!

Visit Amazon here!

Now let's take the AliExpress!

For cheap clothing, I shop at AliExpress. The price is ridiculously cheap compare to retail stores. And my favorite thing about this site is.... FREE SHIPPING! You heard right! The shipping is free! UNCONDITIONALLY. I bought this dress for $5 and the shipping is free! Tell me where else can you find such good deal? Of course, I did a bunch of research before I buy from AliExpress because the deal is just too good to be true. Much to my relief, the goods came by Airmail and are good quality. They don't tear and the material is soft and comfortable! So yes, I will be buying more from them.

To buy Things From Another World (TFAW)!
I was actually searching for a specific product (Final Fantasy Dissidia Squall Play Arts Kai .... see my old posts in August) when I came across this site. It was offering the cheapest Squall so I immediately jumped onto it. Of course. With a great amount of research. Much to my surprise, the Resellerrating was very very very positive. So I was sort of suspicious but I still gave it a try anyway. Now that I received the goods, I understand why people are so happy with their purchase.
Let me explain.

I bought Squall for $29.99 whereas the retail price is $49.99. So I was already pretty happy. So the box came like this. It has little cute Styrofoam to protect the gorgeous Squall box. At first I saw the little flyer with Zero Month. Then beneath it was Squall's box. It was only a day later that I was letting my baby brother play with the Styrofoam that we realized there was SOMETHING ELSE in there. We dispersed the Styrofoam and to our surprise.... IT'S A COMIC!
Omg. I was quite surprised. TFAW gifted me a comic. Ha! Speaking of excellent customer's satisfaction. I love their style! You gotta admit. It's pretty sweet!

So yup! Now I am uber happy (doesn't take much to make me happy, isn't it? XP)!
TFAW has a great variety of comics and figurines. You can get the comics really cheap. Lots of DC and Marvel and co! Super cheap shipping! Simply stunning. Who knows, you might get a free copy too and one free future shipping! Sweet deal!

Final Fantasy Dissidia Squall Play Arts Kai

After waiting 15 agonizing days, Squall finally arrived today! Alright, some quick background information! I got him from an online store called Things From Another World (TFAW) for $29.99 (with $8.80 shipping). It's an amazing deal compare to the retail price which is $49.99 and with crazy shipping fee of $14-25. I was prepared to spend that amount to get him. (One cannot just see and leave Squall alone) I was lucky to stumble upon TFAW who was selling the cheapest, genuine Squall Play Arts Kai. Shameless-self-praising!

When the package arrived, I was squealing my guts out. So this is how the packaging looks like. Pretty neat. Much to my relief, it's not a bootleg. Pheeww. Hope on online shopping: Restored. What's more... this last Squall TFAW had in store and I was surprised to see perfect condition of the box. Not a single rough corner or scratch. Very very impressive.

The action figure is just amazing. His eyes are ridiculously sharp and vivid. The details are flawless as well. I was handling him like a porcelain doll until I tried to pose him. That's when it got tricky and funny. I tried to articulate his waist and ended up snapping him in half. Thank the Lord it was ball-jointed and I was about to plop him back. I think my heart stopped for 5 seconds when I thought I ruined him. FOREVER. Viva Barbarian woman's strength.

Other than the waist-fright I had, the rest of the body articulates pretty well. The legs are a little bit weird because his left leg is shorter than his right leg (he is supposed to be leaning his weight on one leg). But once you get the hang of it, he is super fun to play with.

One cannot take a picture of Squall without an ass shot.
Dat ass...

What more can I say about this beautiful specimen other than he is incredibly photogenic? I tried to get a shot of him from all sorts of angles and he still looks gorgeous. I absolutely love his face. The delicate lines and shape are just breathtaking.

He has a swag in his walk.

Squall doing auto-portrait.                                                        Squall as the Successful Kid
"I'm so pretty even though I am brooding..."                                                "Hell Yeah!"

It took me awhile to get used to his grip on the Gunblade. At first it was really awkward. It felt as though I might destroy his fingers if I force the handle on him but after a few daring tries, it actually works! So if you own this figure, don't be afraid to be a little bit rough on him. He can handle it. Rawrrr... The result is totally worthy. He looks so much badass now that he is holding his Lionheart.

Oh yeah that big Gunblade.... (if you know what I mean)
This shot was unintentional. I was just playing with the angles and I laughed wayyy too hard when I realize how awkward the angle was. Oh well~

Pretty boy Squall engaged a battle with the little people. I bought those guys from Renaud Bray years ago. They cost $6.99 each (I just tore out their price tags)

Musketeer 1: Bloody Hell! I got the giant in the arse!    Musketeer 2: Good work, mate! Let me join ya!

Epic Butt-stabbing.
Musketeer 2 looks very, very focused on a certain piece of ass. XD I don't blame him. Squall does have one fine butt.

After his sour defeat, Squall escapes the battle on his blue lamb. Brooding and angry.

The end.

If any of you are interested in buying anime/cartoon figurines, feel free to ask me. I spent a lot of time stalking each online website. I have some knowledge as to which website has whatnot (best deal). So it will save you time to search for them.
Since this Squall is the last from TFAW, you won't be finding any more there. But I do know where you can get the second cheapest.

Don't forget to subscribe! Good lads.
