Stunning Hotel Fairmont Montebello

Beautiful 5 stars hotel Fairmont Montebello is truly a sight to be awed. It is a fantastic place for family/couple to relax and enjoy what nature has. There are soooo many activities you can do there in the hotel alone! There are indoor/outdoor swimming pools. A cabin for bike rental. A breath-taking lobby to relax and enjoy a casual reading. Horse riding! Private boat yatch...etc. You name them, they have it! I was very fortunate to be able to enjoy 2 days there. It was one of the most beautiful memories I have.

 This is our hotel room.
The indoor pool is sooo beautiful on this picture. Too bad when I went there, it was close.
Fortunately, the outdoor pool is open! We even went to soak in the Jacuzzi after a god swim.
I went to this little... structure (whose name escapes me) and it was beautifully decorated with hanging plants and stunning flowers. The pictures that we have taken on that spot were marvelous.

(Note: I don't own the top few photos. They were taken directly from the Fairmont Montebello website. I do own the following photos)
This is by far the largest lobby I have ever seen! It's huuuuuuge. It can probably fit 50 elephants in there no problem!
It's nicely filled with couches and chairs. It's a bit cute and homey when you think about it. It has a very family feel to it... with the dim lighting. You know, a family coaxing on the sofa in front of the fire place.
This is the diner.

The outside where you can enjoy some yummy BBQ!

Like I said before, the indoor pool was closed... though I enjoyed myself outdoor. The workers were really helpful and charming.
Yup, you swim next to the river. After a good swim, the best thing to do is to chill on those foldable chairs and watch the river flows.
I believe this is a private boat yacht. I'm not too certain though. Nevertheless, it's a pretty sight.
A group of excited family leaving on horse ride. I'm so envious. The horses are really friendly. They let you pet them on their head, neck, side...etc.
The hotel ground is so vast that you can rent bike and explore every inch of the hotel!

Well, I truly had a good rest after a relatively stressful year. My advice is that you can find yourself a good deal on some coupon sites that can offer great discounts for high-end places. I have gotten a good deal which includes a trip to the nearby Omega Park and a canoe/kayak by their private mountain lake. It was totally awesome. I would definitely return there when I get a chance.

First Day at Work! Are You Stressed Out?

First day of something is always scary! But you have to look at the bright side. Tell yourself this. "You will never improve your life if you are not willing to get out of your comfort zone." It's like travelling to new places, you are growing! So you better get comfortable at being uncomfortable -- quote from Secrets of Millionaire Mind.

Now if you are reading this because you got your first job, then allow me to congratulate you. Good work in passing the job application and interview process. You had gotten far now. You fought the job-snatching-gladiator battle and came out victor. I think you should take a deep breath and relax. Treat yourself with someone nice, could be a peaceful night reading a book, buying yourself a nice mousse cake, treat your friends/family to dinner... just enjoy yourself. You deserve it.

For fellow university students, I highly encourage you to get an internship. So what if you will graduate a semester later? Trust me, that experience you gain will be invaluable. You can always do like me. I don't have summer vacation. I basically study for one semester and work the other. By work, I mean internship. I'm going to share some of my experience with you guys.

So I am starting my second internship at a big company. Pretty exciting. And pretty darn scary too! I am so nervous I can't sleep. In fact, I am so stressed about what my future boss and coworkers will think of me that I started planning my wardrobe 1 week in advance and started having imaginary conversation in the shower. Yes. It's normal to be stressed out. It's like the first day of school. Remember how nervous you are? It's the same thing for work too!

But the wonderful part of FIRST DAY is that nobody expects anything from you. You are probably just a new face there for them to gossip later over lunch. So there you go, have a good first impression. FIRST DAY is when you get to show people how good of a listener you are, how friendly and how you will do your job right. You just have to sit there and be pretty and pay attention to your training. YUP! Training! Ask questions and take notes. I cannot stress how important note-taking is. You should know by now after going to school that taking notes helps a lot when it comes to your exams! Your brain doesn't remember things being said 3 days ago but your papers might.

I had my first 2 days of training outside of my internship period. It was awesome because I was trained by an intern who is leaving and I am replacing her. It was a bit easier to talk to because we are of the same age, same job orientation.

Be on time! By god, I was there 40 min early. I waited outside on a picnic table for 10 mins before I gathered enough courage to walk in. Apparently, my boss saw me from the window and LOL-ed. Gosh, that was embarrassing!

She showed me around the office and introduced me to some senior managers. I totally froze! I was so stressed I just grimaced awkwardly at them. They must be thinking I'm a nutso. AUUUGHHH~

After that I had 8 hours straight of training. The intern was drilling all the info in me. I was kinda VERY overwhelmed. I tried to keep up but it was like "Woooaahhh what did you just say? No, like 5 sentences ago."

My boss told me to take it easy and she wasn't expecting anything from me on my first day of actual work. Still, I am going to research as much info about my position and exceed their expectation!

Otakuthon 2013 (Monteal Anime Convention)

This is my 3rd time going to Otakuthon though I am there mostly for the figurines and anime goods. I have been excited for this day since March, wow freaking 5 months ago. If that's not dedication for my figurine collection hobby and my love to see cosplay then I don't know what else to call it. I bought my ticket way ahead of time. I paid $40 for Friday-Sunday. Normally the ticket for Saturday alone is $40. Saturday is the busiest and most exciting days with a lot of interesting panels, events and cosplayers. Let's get started!

So I decided to cosplay as Ada Wong from Resident Evil 6. I started preparing my cosplay ahead of time, finding the accessories and toy weapons needed since shipping might take some time. I bought my toy gun for $2.50 from Ebay with free shipping. Prepared to be awed by some of the most amazing cosplays I have ever seen. People really work really hard on their cosplay. Kudos to everyone. I tried my best to take as many beautiful Otakuthon 2013 photo!

If you look at this picture carefully... you will see someone doing a niiiice split. LOL
I love how she has her titan buddies around her. Just too damn awesome.
Kudos to her detailed weapons! I mean geez, it's very impressive and beautiful.

This sure brings back memories, guys. If you don't know, it's one of he 4 evil digimons in Digimon Adventure.
Tada! Era Fey found her giant mashmellow. I can't resist but to show you how cute that white mashmellow is. Must be so hot in there. My feet were burning inside my knee-high-heels winter boots.
Adorable Luffy.
I wonder how they walk. Real dedication man.
Perhaps 2 of the most detailed costumes ever. I recognized this lad from last year Otakuthon, she is always dressed in majestic queen/duchess outfit that she made herself. Very, very impressive.
The pokemon assembled. Now, let's go inside the Dealer's Room where all the goodies are.
This is the figurine stand that made me HOOKED/madly obsessed with figurines last year. My entire current collection result from that day onward.
Some armor dealer. Makes me feel like I'm in a video games, upgrading armors and ready to fight monsters.
Well, there will always have little cute Japanese anime charms. So cute!
Here is some figurine prices for those who are interested.
 The Gundam dealer.
The nerdy t-shirt dealer. Usually, you can get $40/2 shirts
The pillows... my friend M witnessed a very interesting happening... there was this huge pillow with a photo of a abused anime girl tied on the cover. That pillow was bought by ... a girl! Surprisingly. The girl was like "HUE HUE HUE!" * Evil maniac laughter * and walked away. LOLOLOL quite interesting.
The prints/posters tables are always the busiest! Ouff... it's like you have to fight through a sea of humans to go to the other side.
And there is a sexy Lambourghini at the anime convention. How cool is that?
And finally, I found some other Resident Evil Umbrella Corporation people! I'm soooo happy.
It has been a great experience. I want to thank all those other amazing cosplayers who clearly put a lot of effort. See you all at next year's Otakuthon!

Mont Tremblant (Hotel version) Part 1

Wonder where you can go for summer vacation? Here is a place I would recommend if you are living near Canada and love nature calling. My family went on a trip to Mont Tremblant (Province: Quebec) to enjoy the breeze lake and mountain chalet. It was one of the most relaxing trips I have ever gone to. It's perfect for families and peaceful couples. Basically, what you do there (depending on which part of the mountain you are at) there isn't any shopping mall. All you have are lakes (for swimming, canoeing, viewing), mountains (for hikers and mountain bikers) and maybe some tennis courts next to the lake. It's that wonderful.

So this is the hotel/suite/chalet my family stayed. The place is a beauty of its own. It has always been my dream to have a house just like this one day. So to me, it's like a tease to have the place and have to go back once the trip is over. Now, I am even more motivated to work harder and smarter to achieve my dream. Anyhow, let's go on with the suite. It's a long, deserved rest for my family. Sweet Karamba!

I marveled at this beautiful decors. When I hauled the suitcase in, I saw my mom came running to me at the door going "OMG OMGGGGGOOODDDD!" I was like "Omg what happened?" She pointed at inside the suite and went "THIS!" My jaw dropped.

Splendid. We stayed there for 2 nights. Best 2 nights ever.

Imagine waking up to the lake. Yup. My life is completed.

My future home will look just as good, if not better.

We are getting ready for a big feast! The hotel provides us with everything. It's a full kitchen: Pots, plates, cups, utensil, dishwasher, washer, dryer, you name it.

 The balcony
It's soooo beautiful. Mont Tremblant's view is truly something to talk about.
My hotel also has a nice tennis court, gym, skating rink, big BBQ pit...etc.

BBQ night!

My mom has truly outdone herself.

The night view. You can hear the crickets singing.

It's raining, giving it a rather gloomy atmosphere but I love rain so extra bonus for me. Yeah, I am a rain child.

The same lake we see outside the hotel. There are many other lakes at Tremblant. Over 400 I believe. That's craaazy.

So this is it for now. I have to get back to study for my final and applying jobs for my superb Fall Work Term. Oooufff, student life can be tough. Anyhow, stay tune for another post on Mont Tremblant! Part 2!
