Timber, the Destroyer of Figurines

Today, I will show you a compilation of Timber (my sassy rabbit) and my figurines. I was happily blogging my figurines when I noticed a trend. Timber is always attacking my boys! What the... He is probably jealous or something. Still... Timber, you need to staaaaph. My priceless figurines! *Sob* Anyway, behold, Timber the destroyer of plastic men.
He will steal your soul with his cuteness and crush it!
Even Dante, son of Sparda, hot hon' slayer of demons and pizzaboy, has a tough challenge when it comes to battling a gigantic furry beast in an inescapable cage.
Timber doesn't give a damn whether you have demonic blue glowing arm or not. He is going to nibble it to mush. Cuteness alert.
In the normal world, you attack monsters with weapons. In Timberland, Timber attacks your weapon.
Timber: "Move bitch, get out of the way, biaaatch."
Squall sulked even harder afterward... "I aint no one's bitch." He said. But we don't care cuz he is one.
Don't ever poke poke your finger in places it doesn't belong because you never know when a lightning fast rabbit might just chew it off. Nasty fangs aware.
Now, take a good look at this evil gangsta cutie! He even grows his pair of silly eyebrows. LOOOOL Winter is coming so he is changing his fur coat. He used to be light brown. As you can see the darker brown fur coat is slowly replacing the old fur. So no more excess mohawk hair that I loved so much. Aww well~ But man, he looks retardedly adorable!

Do You Know How to Save up Your Money?

I have always enjoyed keeping track of my finance to the dot. I started this habit when I earned my first paycheck during my first part time job. It's simple and organized. It's never too late to keep track of your earnings and spending. The earlier you start, the better off you will be. Book keeping can be surprisingly simple and efficient.

For Job:
Create an Excel name: [Job] Salary

In there, you are going to create on the horizontal columns the following:
  1. The date your paycheck starts
  2. The date your paycheck ends
  3. Payment Date
  4. Rate/Hour (if you are minimum/fixed wage, just drag down the tab)
  5. Hours worked
  6. [4 * 5]
  7. Vacation pay rate
  8. Vacation pay (it's written on your pay)
  9. Gross income = [6 + 8]
  10. Tax with (simpler when you are doing your income tax next year)
  11. Total deductions (if you pay provincial and federal tax, sum them up)
  12. Net pay = [9 - 11]
Trust me. You just have to do this once and you can copy paste this for your next job.

Then of course, you should allocate yourself about 10-20% of your salary to PLAY.
By that, I mean to truly relax yourself. You work hard. You deserve some rest. It doesn't include food, necessity. It's an amount just for you to be happy doing things you like. It could be like treating yourself to spa, go to amusement part, buy fashionable wears...etc.

Create another separate column called "Amount allocated for PLAY (10%) per paycheck.
= 12 * 10%
That is the amount you can spend only.
If you want, at the bottom of this column, you can put the sum of the amount you spend on PLAY.

You can also dedicate another column for travelling. I allocate another 10% of my paycheck to save up for my future travelling expenses. You can allocate more but 30% should be the max. Don't forget you still have a 10% of "Play". And you still need to save up for future expenses.

This is my simple trick to be financially organized when it comes to SALARY SAVING.
I have other methods of keeping track of my money which I will post them in other posts. The earlier you start being financially organized, the better. You won't feel so overwhelmed when you wonder why you are always poor or why your salary is not consistent. So I hope this post will help you! Let me know of your own book keeping habit.

Play Arts Kai Raiden Metal Gear Revengeance

I thought I should blog about my awesome Raiden Play Arts Kai figure from Metal Gear Revengeance. I had wanted this figure for almost 4 months before it was released. I remember stalking all websites for this guy as they were all sold out or overpriced. (note: This is before they re-released). So anyhow, I found it at a reasonably good price and snatched it. The excruciating long wait until the release date + shipping duration was well worthy. This figure officially kicked asses. Check it out.

I can go on and on about the beautiful details on this figure. I mean look at the armor, it looks sooo real, even though they are all PVC. Amazing.
Raiden came with so many cool accessories. I love the blade, the throwing knives and his sword sheath.

WHO IS DA BOSS? Come at me, bro!

He comes with his... mask/forehead armor? Basically the front of his hair can pop out. Then you plug this eyeshield into that peg hole. It's kinda funny when you see Raiden without hair when I was interchanging the parts.
Absolutely smeeexy~
Gosh, I love taking photo of Raiden. Every pose he does screams "badass"!!!
I brought Raiden and Nero to a chalet by the lake. Instead of appreciating nature, I was busy drooling after how good Raiden looks.
BRO HUG!
I don't claim to be a pro photographer but man... these shots are gorgeous. Raiden + nature = EPIC WIN!
Here is a Fabulous Nero with his pink Barbie glasses~ Aww Yis.

I'm so happy to be able to share this post and photos with you guys. Spread the love for Raiden Play Arts Kai yooooo~ Anyway, let me how do you like this figure and the photos in the comments. I look forward to reading them!

Excellent Model POP [Megahouse] Eustass Captain Kid

So after craving for Eustass Kid figure for 7 months, I finally have the guts to buy it. Yes, guts. Because this figure is pretty expensive and the shipping is no joke either.
I stalked all the online anime websites for the cheapest price. Finally, I got one that is quite decent.
The retail price for this figure is 12 000 yen which is about $125. And since this figure is more than 2kg, they insisted on shipping on EMS (all stores insist) which is $56 shipping fee. So it would have cost me $175 for one figure. Anyhow, I did some research and got it for 6 000yen and 5400 yen = 11 400 ($118). No regret whatsoever.

Boy, my shelf is completely full now. Before my anime figurine obsession, it was empty. Anyway, Eustass Kid is quite tall for a figure (with the arm is 38cm) and about 2kg.

He comes with 2 interchangeable heads and 2 torsos. The coat and the knife-holder-belt are removable. You only have 1 left arm that is detachable. Above, you have one torso fixed with the gigantic arm. Below is another torso with the regular arm. You can have 4 different combinations with the 2 heads and 2 torso. Personally, I prefer the one above. He looks so much more sinister that way.

Strangely enough, he looks different when seen from different angle. It's pretty wicked. But check out those amazing details. My favorite is still his coat. It is one of the heaviest parts of the figurine, the other being the giant arm. I like to keep his coat on because he kinda looks weird topless. I mean the abs is sexy to look at but Eustass Kid in the manga/anime has his coat on, so damn this figure aint gonna stay topless. In all seriously, his abs is pretty a piece of work -- said the shameless fangirl.

Here is the arm under normal lighting. I think Eustass kid look simply gorgeous 2 years before the time skip. Anyway, maybe they will release a 2 years after figurine later on.

The details are incredible. The material is quite solid. So far, nothing seemed to chip off. He can take up quite some space on your shelf. So clean away some junk because this pirate 'king' needs to show off his awesomeness.

And that's my favorite head. He looks so evil. Kyaaa~
I definitely don't regret buying Eustass Kid. He is currently the most expensive figure in my collection. But hey, it's totally worthy for the amount of details and interchangeable parts that come with it.

I look forward for more awesome POP figurines. They are just so precious to look at.

Stunning Hotel Fairmont Montebello

Beautiful 5 stars hotel Fairmont Montebello is truly a sight to be awed. It is a fantastic place for family/couple to relax and enjoy what nature has. There are soooo many activities you can do there in the hotel alone! There are indoor/outdoor swimming pools. A cabin for bike rental. A breath-taking lobby to relax and enjoy a casual reading. Horse riding! Private boat yatch...etc. You name them, they have it! I was very fortunate to be able to enjoy 2 days there. It was one of the most beautiful memories I have.

 This is our hotel room.
The indoor pool is sooo beautiful on this picture. Too bad when I went there, it was close.
Fortunately, the outdoor pool is open! We even went to soak in the Jacuzzi after a god swim.
I went to this little... structure (whose name escapes me) and it was beautifully decorated with hanging plants and stunning flowers. The pictures that we have taken on that spot were marvelous.

(Note: I don't own the top few photos. They were taken directly from the Fairmont Montebello website. I do own the following photos)
This is by far the largest lobby I have ever seen! It's huuuuuuge. It can probably fit 50 elephants in there no problem!
It's nicely filled with couches and chairs. It's a bit cute and homey when you think about it. It has a very family feel to it... with the dim lighting. You know, a family coaxing on the sofa in front of the fire place.
This is the diner.

The outside where you can enjoy some yummy BBQ!

Like I said before, the indoor pool was closed... though I enjoyed myself outdoor. The workers were really helpful and charming.
Yup, you swim next to the river. After a good swim, the best thing to do is to chill on those foldable chairs and watch the river flows.
I believe this is a private boat yacht. I'm not too certain though. Nevertheless, it's a pretty sight.
A group of excited family leaving on horse ride. I'm so envious. The horses are really friendly. They let you pet them on their head, neck, side...etc.
The hotel ground is so vast that you can rent bike and explore every inch of the hotel!

Well, I truly had a good rest after a relatively stressful year. My advice is that you can find yourself a good deal on some coupon sites that can offer great discounts for high-end places. I have gotten a good deal which includes a trip to the nearby Omega Park and a canoe/kayak by their private mountain lake. It was totally awesome. I would definitely return there when I get a chance.

First Day at Work! Are You Stressed Out?

First day of something is always scary! But you have to look at the bright side. Tell yourself this. "You will never improve your life if you are not willing to get out of your comfort zone." It's like travelling to new places, you are growing! So you better get comfortable at being uncomfortable -- quote from Secrets of Millionaire Mind.

Now if you are reading this because you got your first job, then allow me to congratulate you. Good work in passing the job application and interview process. You had gotten far now. You fought the job-snatching-gladiator battle and came out victor. I think you should take a deep breath and relax. Treat yourself with someone nice, could be a peaceful night reading a book, buying yourself a nice mousse cake, treat your friends/family to dinner... just enjoy yourself. You deserve it.

For fellow university students, I highly encourage you to get an internship. So what if you will graduate a semester later? Trust me, that experience you gain will be invaluable. You can always do like me. I don't have summer vacation. I basically study for one semester and work the other. By work, I mean internship. I'm going to share some of my experience with you guys.

So I am starting my second internship at a big company. Pretty exciting. And pretty darn scary too! I am so nervous I can't sleep. In fact, I am so stressed about what my future boss and coworkers will think of me that I started planning my wardrobe 1 week in advance and started having imaginary conversation in the shower. Yes. It's normal to be stressed out. It's like the first day of school. Remember how nervous you are? It's the same thing for work too!

But the wonderful part of FIRST DAY is that nobody expects anything from you. You are probably just a new face there for them to gossip later over lunch. So there you go, have a good first impression. FIRST DAY is when you get to show people how good of a listener you are, how friendly and how you will do your job right. You just have to sit there and be pretty and pay attention to your training. YUP! Training! Ask questions and take notes. I cannot stress how important note-taking is. You should know by now after going to school that taking notes helps a lot when it comes to your exams! Your brain doesn't remember things being said 3 days ago but your papers might.

I had my first 2 days of training outside of my internship period. It was awesome because I was trained by an intern who is leaving and I am replacing her. It was a bit easier to talk to because we are of the same age, same job orientation.

Be on time! By god, I was there 40 min early. I waited outside on a picnic table for 10 mins before I gathered enough courage to walk in. Apparently, my boss saw me from the window and LOL-ed. Gosh, that was embarrassing!

She showed me around the office and introduced me to some senior managers. I totally froze! I was so stressed I just grimaced awkwardly at them. They must be thinking I'm a nutso. AUUUGHHH~

After that I had 8 hours straight of training. The intern was drilling all the info in me. I was kinda VERY overwhelmed. I tried to keep up but it was like "Woooaahhh what did you just say? No, like 5 sentences ago."

My boss told me to take it easy and she wasn't expecting anything from me on my first day of actual work. Still, I am going to research as much info about my position and exceed their expectation!
